NZMUC 2017 Preview:
By team captain
One of the longest standing mixed clubs appearing at the 2017 NZMUC, Credo are here to show how legacy and history can contribute to on-field success
Give us a short history of your team
Credo got its first official shirt after it won the final NZ tour event in 2003. At the time the main clubs in the country were: Bluefish (Auckland), SPY vs SPY (Wellington) and Credo. We are the only club still running. Credo has always been competitive and over the years we have won our fair share of nationals and tournaments. We have always had the smallest region and have always played as a team, hence why we have punched above our weight. We have always been inclusive and community based.
The thing we are most proud of is how Credo has always valued and used its women as much as its men.
Credo means believe or belief. We have always had the mantra of a champion team will always beat a team of champions. Spirit has always been the number one rule for the majority of the players and we have fought hard to keep that reputation.
As a club we try to instil in our players that playing the best you can within the rules and believing in your team mates is the only way to play. We are very confident that this team upholds these beliefs and will deserve to wear this jersey and carry on the club's legacy.
