NZMUC 2017 Preview:
You heard it here first. No coaching = skills of the gods. Exiles bringing this kind of heat to NZMUC 2017.
Give us a short history of your team
We were once a team of teachers based at the University of Canterbury but have now been exiled by our original coaches. We are currently known in Christchurch as the gnarliest of the hard nosed frisbee teams in town. Legend has it that the deprivation of coaching has given us the skills of gods. For now though you will rue the day you play the Exiles.
If you're a returning team, who's in and who's out from last years (or previous years) side?
Too many players out to remember. Two Americans and a bunch of surprise women are in. Perhaps our biggest loss is of The Man, myth and legend that is Bruce Saunders. His crook hippie pants and filthy thumbers will be greatly missed, as he has forever hung up the ultimate boots. All the best for Brucy’s retirement.
What are your goals for the tournament?
Going to go absolutely bananas every time we take the paddock. Our silky skills and enthusiasm makes us a fun team to play against and spectate 👌🏼
How would you sum up your team in 3 words?
Very, very moist
Who should we be looking out for?
Ben Sturman’s killer throws linking up with James Hall’s blitzing speed. As well as our three NZ reps playing for other teams
Who are you most looking forward to playing?
UC Honey badgers. Always a competitive, tough matchup when we play these absolute battlers.
What do you think of the 'endzone decides' rules?
It’s fine but what about people who are gender non-binary?
In the event of a zombie apocalypse, which team do you think would be the first to go, and why? And who would you team up with?
Any Aussie team. Team up with hammertron, tough bastards and local knowledge would see us through the tron. Hamilton already resembles a post-apocalyptic town though?
