NZMUC 2017 Preview:
Hammertrash
Just a bunch of friends with a shared love of tools and bins out to play NZMUC 2017
Team name
Hammertrash
Give us a short history of your team
2016 saw the first inclusion of a second mix team from the city of the future. Suitably named "Average Joes" their level of averageness blew other teams, but their level of spirit brought them back in for a nice sweaty hug. Now in 2017, decimated by the talent that moved up in the "A" (*cough* less fun *cough*) team, Average Joes have become the mighty Hammertrash named after their offensive strategy of "if you don't score off a Hammer or trashy throw it doesn't count". Out to put the "MATE!" back in Ultimate, Hammertrash is a team to follow closely.
If you're a returning team, who's in and who's out from last years (or previous years) side?
It was a hard selection process, but our criteria came down to four key areas 1. Do they have good chat? 2 How good is the Banter? 3. Are they a GC? 4. Athleticism, Throwing and Catching..... ultimately number 4 was ruled out as an unachievable criteria, and we took whoever showed up to training
What are your goals for the tournament?
Win day 3, first two days is just warm up
How would you sum up your team in 3 words?
Smoke and Mirrors
Who should we be looking out for?
So many superstars to look out for, of course there is Te Iwa Fisher (#Athlete), Hamish Crocket (Pocket Rocket), Maria Smith (Only 16!), Chris Charles (Charly Brown), Rosie Carter (Cyclone Pam)...... not enough space to name them all Rotorua and the Naki, gonna be some high quality ultimate in those games (*cough*)
Who are you most looking forward to playing?
We shall be looking to get revenge on Ryan Sheridan's UCUC Honey Badgers for ditching us, but also always have good games against Squall "formally known as VIC"
What do you think of the 'endzone decides' rules?
Once we get over the initial confusion, the endzone rules will work okay. Naturally 75% of our men will be shattered after the first game, so 4 woman will happen a lot, and made up of players able to walk to the line
In the event of a zombie apocalypse, which team do you think would be the first to go, and why? And who would you team up with?
Hammertron: Prime will be first to go, to busy talking about strats to see the zombies coming...
