AMUC Div 1 Preview:
Kaf (NSW)
By team captain
Kaf are coming in hot, extra hot. This article barely skims the surface of the froth this team is ready to bring to Hobart.
Team name
Kaf
Give us a short history of your team
Kaf formed in late 2015 as a league team devoted to drinking coffee and eating dumplings. Bathurst Stampede 2016 was the breakout tournament for the team, bringing together many players with a single goal of playing and partying without restriction. That year we scraped into Division 1 AMUC, and planted the seed for greater things to come.
If you're a returning team, who's in and who's out from last years (or previous years) side?
After an uncertain start to the year, the promise of “do whatever you want for the team” proved to be an attractive prospect for many, and we’ve added a number of elite and developing players alike this year. Helen Epstein and Rob Swan are returning as captains, ready to brew a fresh cup.
What are your goals for the tournament?
Use our 12 girls to the max! Girl handlers, girls laying out, girls run the world!
How would you sum up your team in 3 words?
Strong Extra Hot (because we are strong, extra, and hot)
Who should we be looking out for?
Lachie White is literally unmissable - the thiccest boi in Australian ultimate is pushing new boundaries as the bant slinging, vodka “sipping” memelord of the team. Following a breakout season as the Biggest Dumbest Idiot on Bench in 2017, expect to see instant impact on the mental state of everyone around him.
Holly Reeve is not only currently representing Australia in the U20 and U24 divisions, she’s offering wisdom and insight in spades.
