NZMUC 2017 Preview:
Marvellous DC have their eyes firmly set on WUCC in 2018. How will this team perform over the weekend with these bigger goals in mind?
Give us a short history of your team
Marvellous DC started in 2014 and made the final losing on universe to Credo. in 2015 Marvellous restructured but came a disappointing 5th. But came out looking fresh in 2016 winning Mixed nationals with an 100+ point dif and claiming the 2018 WUCC mixed bid in the process.
If you're a returning team, who's in and who's out from last years (or previous years) side?
This year Marvellous team has split in to X and Y teams for NZ Mixed Nats, missing the likes of Andrew Neal, Ryan Sheridan, Ryan Greeves from the winning team, also adding in a lot of the Marvellous family.
What are your goals for the tournament?
As it is a worlds year, we are planning on running structures that we will use at worlds and try and grow on a lot of our connections in the worlds squad. Having twice as much disc time will allow for more touches. A Marvs vs Marvs final would be nice, but their are so many strong teams this year, who knows how it will shape up.
How would you sum up your team in 3 words?
Family, Competitive, Octopus
Who should we be looking out for?
Our whole team is full of all stars but look out for our resident long cut stealer "Jeremy Lin" and our get outta my way Jeremy Lin undercutter "Pinecone Lake" to be shredding the field.
Who are you most looking forward to playing?
We shall be looking to get revenge on Ryan Sheridan's UCUC Honey Badgers for leaving him ditching us, but also always have good games against Squall "formally known as VIC"
What do you think of the 'endzone decides' rules?
We think its a great way to utilize women in the same way we utilize men. If you have great ladies on your team, as we do. We can now use that as a defensive edge.
In the event of a zombie apocalypse, which team do you think would be the first to go, and why? And who would you team up with?
What ever team T-Fray is on.
Marvs would pair with Marvs!
